You agree to the terms of service below, and the Terms of Use for Substack, the technology provider.

LIDE Switzerland

Terms of Service (lide.swiss)

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the LIDE Switzerland publication at lidesuica.ch (the “Publication”), including its newsletters, articles, the Conexão Helvética podcast, comments, free and paid subscriptions, and the referral rewards programme.

The Publication is operated by E-venio Events GmbH, a limited liability company under Swiss law with its registered office at Industriestrasse 9, 6301 Zug, registered in the commercial register of the Canton of Zug under UID CHE-411.646.183 (”we”, “us”). We operate LIDE Suíça under licence from LIDE – Grupo de Líderes Empresariais.

The Publication is hosted on Substack. Substack’s own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply to your account, sign-in and payments. If these Terms conflict with Substack’s terms on a matter that concerns the Publication itself, these Terms prevail between you and us.

By subscribing, commenting or otherwise using the Publication, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Publication.

2. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

You can subscribe for free or take a paid subscription. A paid subscription gives access to the paid content and benefits described on the Publication’s subscribe page at the time you sign up.

  1. Price and billing. Prices, currency and billing period (monthly or annual) are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Substack and its payment provider (Stripe). We do not see or store your full card details.

  2. VAT. Prices are shown inclusive or exclusive of Swiss VAT (MWST) as stated at checkout. Where VAT applies, it is charged at the rate in force at the time of billing.

  3. Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel.

  4. Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in your Substack account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid access until then.

  5. Refunds. Fees already paid are not refundable, except where we decide otherwise in an individual case or where mandatory law requires a refund. Requests go to contact@lide.swiss.

  6. Price changes. We will announce any change to the price of an existing subscription by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.

  7. Founding or group plans. Any special plans (for example, founding member or group subscriptions) are subject to the conditions shown when you buy them.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the EEA, any mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence, including any right of withdrawal, remain unaffected. Where you ask for immediate access to paid content, you agree that it starts before any withdrawal period ends, to the extent the law allows.

3. Referral rewards programme

Subscribers who share the Publication through their personal Substack referral link can earn a discount on tickets for LIDE Suíça events.

3 subscribers 5% off LIDE Suíça event tickets

5 subscribers 10% off LIDE Suíça event tickets

25 subscribers 20% off LIDE Suíça event tickets

  1. Counting. A referral counts when a new person subscribes through your link, as recorded by Substack. Referrals made with fake, duplicate or self-created accounts do not count.

  2. Redeeming. When you reach a tier, we add your name to our list for special conditions. To use the discount, email events@lidesuica.ch when you register for an event, with the event name and the email address you subscribe with.

  3. Conditions. Discounts apply to individual event tickets only, are subject to availability and cannot be combined with other offers. Only the highest tier you have reached applies. Rewards have no cash value and are personal and non-transferable.

  4. Validity. A reward is valid for 12 months from the date it is granted.

  5. No membership. A reward does not confer LIDE membership, admission to any council or committee, or any other status.

  6. Changes. We may change or end the programme at any time for the future. Rewards already granted remain valid for their stated period. We may withdraw rewards obtained in breach of these Terms.

4. Content and intellectual property

All content of the Publication, including texts, images, logos, audio and video of the Conexão Helvética podcast, belongs to us, to LIDE as licensor of the LIDE marks, or to the respective authors and guests. It is protected by copyright and trademark law.

  1. What you may do. You may read, listen to and share content for your personal, non-commercial use, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link to the original.

  2. What you may not do. You may not republish, sell, or make paid content available to non-subscribers, remove copyright notices, or systematically copy or scrape the Publication, including to train AI models, without our prior written consent.

  3. Trademarks. “LIDE”, “LIDE Switzerland”, “LIDE Suíça”, “LIDE Svizzera”, “LIDE Suisse” and “Conexão Helvética” and their logos may not be used without permission.

  4. Guest contributions. Articles, interviews and podcast episodes with guests reflect the views of the guest. They do not necessarily reflect the views of LIDE Switzerland, LIDE or their partners and sponsors.

  5. Sponsored content. Content produced in partnership with a sponsor is labelled as such.

5. Comments and community conduct

We welcome open, respectful discussion among business leaders. When you comment or post, you are responsible for what you write.

  1. Not allowed. Unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, harassing or threatening content; spam and unsolicited advertising; solicitation of investments; disclosure of confidential or personal information about others; and impersonation.

  2. Licence to us. You keep the rights to your comments. You allow us to display them in the Publication and to quote them in LIDE Suíça communications with attribution.

  3. Moderation. We may edit, hide or remove comments, and suspend or block users, if we believe these rules have been breached. We are not obliged to monitor comments.

6. No advice and no affiliation

The Publication provides general information and opinion for business leaders. It is not investment, financial, legal or tax advice.

  1. No advice. Nothing in the Publication is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or other financial instrument, or to make any investment. Consult a qualified adviser before making decisions.

  2. No offer. Nothing in the Publication is an offer or solicitation to subscribe for or buy securities or financial instruments, and it is not a prospectus or key information document.

  3. Accuracy. We take care with our content, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or up to date. Forward-looking statements are uncertain.

  4. No affiliation. References to events, organisations, venues or places, including Davos or the World Economic Forum, do not mean that we are affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them, unless we say so expressly.

7. Privacy and data protection

We process your personal data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nDSG) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR. Details are in our Privacy Notice.

  • What we receive. Through Substack we receive your name, email address, subscription status, referral activity and, for paid plans, limited billing information. We use this to deliver the Publication, run the referral programme, manage event registrations and, with your consent where required, inform you about LIDE Switzerland events.

  • Substack. Substack Inc. (USA) processes your account and payment data as an independent controller under its own Privacy Policy. Using Substack involves a transfer of data to the United States.

  • Your rights. You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, and unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in each email or by writing to contact@lide.swiss.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for damage arising from the use of the Publication or reliance on its content, and for interruptions or errors of the Substack platform. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Swiss law (Art. 100 CO). If we are liable for a paid subscription, our liability is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will publish the new version with its effective date and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email at least 30 days in advance. If you continue to use the Publication after that date, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription before they take effect.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access, including a paid subscription, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms. In that case no refund is due, unless mandatory law requires one. We may also discontinue the Publication. If we do, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid paid subscription pro rata.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The courts in Zug, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory places of jurisdiction for consumers, and mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, remain unaffected.
